Chesterfield Inn, Palm Beach, Florida

This year we decided to do something different for Thanksgiving.

Earlier this summer we met friends at the Chesterfield Inn on Palm Beach for cocktails and dinner on a Friday night.  The Chesterfield Inn is a boutique hotel one block from Worth Avenue.  We love the atmosphere of the Leopard Lounge with its famous hand painted ceiling and the tropical painted scenes throughout the hotel.  The Chesterfield is known for serving the best Traditional English Afternoon Tea on Palm Beach.  Our dinner was delicious including one of the best steaks ever served and a tasty curry chicken dish.

A quick search on their website boasted a Thanksgiving special that included a room, Thanksgiving dinner for two and continental breakfast for under $300.  Knowing Palm Beach prices, we decided this was a deal we couldn't pass up.

We leisurely made our way down to Palm Beach and checked in around 5PM.  Upon arrival the desk clerk informed us that being the last guests to arrive, we could stay in a suite.

We were ushered to the Founders Suite which boasted a bedroom, a sitting room and two bathrooms.  The suite was decorated in Palm Beach Art Deco style in busy beige tones and would likely have been a room for someone who would come and stay for the season back in the ‘day’.

We changed for dinner and headed to the lounge for a delicious golden margarita followed by a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings.  Other options were prime rib of beef or salmon.  We shared a quiet corner overlooking the entire room and enjoyed a romantic dinner.

The following morning we casually strolled down Worth Avenue window shopping and stopped in Sequin, one of my favorite stores.  Most of the larger shops were open for Black Friday at 8AM for any early birds.

We had a delightful time and look forward to doing this again.
