Fakahatchee Coastal Cruises

Friends of Fakahatchee, we have just announced three Coastal Cruises to historic Fakahatchee Island and want to give members a chance to book before we publicize them.

You can reserve places at our website on the Events page or go directly to http://fofreservation.eventbrite.com/

The Christmas Cruise on December 19th should be great fun!

Event Details - Friends of Fakahatchee Coastal Cruise

Join us on a trip to historic Fakahatchee Island, once home to a thriving community of farming and fishing families. It even had a school! In earlier days, Calusa Indians made the island their home.

Everglades National Boat Tours will take us among the mangroves of the Ten Thousand Islands and there is a good chance dolphins will entertain our craft. Once on the island, a naturalist will point out unusual plants on the path to the cemetery. On the return journey, the setting sun will provide photographers with many memorable scenes. This year, a special Christmas Cruise December 19 will provide a great holiday activity for your guests.

Cold drinks and snacks will be served on the boat. Please bring bug repellent and wear long clothing and closed shoes. Jackets are a good idea as it can be much cooler on the water than the mainland.
